This is as hooky and quirky as the best of ‘em, with Deanna in fine vocal fettle, combining well with an equally strong backing that adds rather than drowns. Taking that instantly familiar and much abused loop from Roy Ayres' "Running Away", the balance pairs street savvy and crossover acceptance in equal measures, whilst the production allows her plenty of room to vamp with some authority. If you want further classification this is garage with guts and a single that hopefully should be around for some time to come.
