Discussion about Arthur Lyman - Arthur Lyman's Greatest Hits
Captain America
Just bought the Mono version for 99 cents at our local Costa Mesa Porta Sound record store. The album is as new and is the L-1039 original 1965 issue. This is the quintessential "Lounge Music" of the late 50's to mid 65 or so. The "Hipsters" brought it back into vogue about 15 years ago when the "Martini Set" became popular again. Yellow Bird is my favorite, but then really the entire album is quite well done. If you can get the stereo version you will be pleasantly surprised at the channel separation. Stereo was still fairly new in the early 60's and so the producers really wanted to accentuate the various instruments. Some may find it a bit overdone but I like it.
