Comparing with the mid 1960's Liberty reissue that I have in VG+ condition, this 1993 Toshiba EMI issue has nearly identical frequency and dynamic range "punch," though average levels are 1-2 dB lower per my Audacity needle drop—no problem, I just turn up the amp. Other 1990's Toshiba EMI Blue Note reissues that I have (Gravy Train, Here 'Tis also by Lou Donaldson) have lower levels than this one but also have softer, less dynamic range, which cannot be remedied by increasing volume. Summary: This particular Toshiba EMI Blue Note reissue is an excellent one.
